While many places in the South Tyrolean Mountains are still covered in snow, the invigorating spring sun is already awakening the south of the region. But not only nature experiences new life, also in the kitchen of the Vilpianerhof there are new fragrances and flavours. Because it is a special season, which focuses on a particular product sprouting in close vicinity to our hotel: the asparagus. Together with the neighbouring villages Terlan and Siebeneich, Vilpian completes the renowned “Asparagus Triangle”, which in April and May focuses solely on this delicious and at the same time healthy vegetable.
The local white asparagus is particularly appreciated, because it is cut in the morning on the field and served fresh on your plate a few hours later. During the “Asparagus Weeks” at our Vilpianerhof, you will experience the asparagus in all its culinary diversity: from traditional dishes like “Asparagus in Bozner Sauce” to completely new creations – and always accompanied by matching aromatic wines. Besides our weekly asparagus feast menu, we also recommend the guided walks through the asparagus fields, which are organised by the tourism association every year.
