You will need just 20 minutes by car, train or bus from our hotel near Bozen to reach the city centre. There a very special atmosphere will await you: Alpine and Mediterranean at once, characterized by the north and south alike, history and modernism side by side. It is not a coincidence, that Bozen is said to be one of the most exciting cities in the Alps, which is fascinating people from around the world.
A walk through the historic city centre is an absolute must: to the Gothic cathedral, via the Walther square, to the fruit market and the renowned Lauben arcades, where you will find tradition-steeped shops right next to international fashion chain stores. Shopping lovers and bargain hunters will surely get their money’s worth as well as culture and history enthusiasts.
The latter will have the agony of choice between numerous museums. One of the main attractions certainly is the Archaeological Museum, where Ötzi – the world famous ice mummy – is displayed. In the Messner Mountain Museum on Sigmundskron castle a little bit outside of Bozen, the renowned South Tyrolean mountaineer Reinhold Messner installed a very interesting exhibition. Alongside numerous other sights as the Bilderburg Runkelstein, the Museion or the Natural History Museum, Bozen offers an event schedule filled with various activities all year long.
